Driver Opens Trash Bag On Side Of Road And Finds So Many Baby Animals Inside
They were found just in time.
When a Good Samaritan saw a trash bag on the side of the road, they somehow knew they should pull over and look inside. What they found shocked them to their core: five puppies crammed inside, just waiting for someone to save them.
“Someone put them in this bag, they cannot breathe, and throws it next to the road,” Natasa Voulgaropoulou of Hopeland Dog Sanctuary said in a video for The Dodo. “They could have died.”

If the bag had been found a few hours later, the puppies might not have made it. Instead, the Good Samaritan contacted Voulgaropoulou, and before long, the babies arrived safely at the sanctuary.
“We made a safe little corner just for them where they could rest and feel protected,” Voulgaropoulou said.

The puppies spent five days in quarantine, during which Voulgaropoulou got to watch their different personalities emerge. Four of the puppies were incredibly shy and spent most of their time hiding behind their bed. One puppy, Loui, was comfortable from the moment he arrived at the sanctuary, and he provided the blueprint for the rest of his siblings to follow.
“In the days that followed, I stayed close to them, giving them time so they could slowly start to trust and feel safe,” Voulgaropoulou said.

Soon, the other four pups caught up with Loui, and now all five are enjoying getting love from all of the Hopeland staff and volunteers.
Hopeland is a sanctuary, meaning the puppies can stay there as long as they need to, but Voulgaropoulou’s greatest hope is that they’ll all find their forever homes very soon
