Texas dad’s heartbreaking voicemail to his kids as deadly floods swept him and wife away
Texas Father Leaves Heartbreaking Goodbye Voicemails as Floods Sweep Him and Wife Away. As devastating floods hit central Texas, 61-year-old Jeff Ramsey and his wife Tanya, 46, were swept away while sleeping in their Airstream trailer at HTR RV Park in Kerrville. Before the water took them, Jeff left heartbreaking voicemails for his children.
To his son Jake, he said: “Buddy, I love you so much. It doesn’t look like we are going to make it. Tell Rachey I love her.” In a message to daughter Rachel, Tanya’s screams could be heard in the background: “We’re dying, we’re dying!” An emergency alert arrived — but too late. Jeff had already begun his goodbye.
Even in those final moments, Jeff called Tanya’s family, waking them up and saving their lives. Their cabin was later destroyed by the flood. Tanya’s body was recovered and identified by her tattoos. Jeff remains missing. Their dog Chloe was later found alive in a shelter — a small miracle in the tragedy.

Tanya, a breast cancer survivor, worked helping other women; Jeff was a beloved volunteer and friend. His last act was one of courage and love. His son Jake says the tragedy could’ve been prevented, blaming delayed alerts. “He already said goodbye to me and my sister,” Jake said.
“It was too late.”

Now, Jeff’s voice lives on as a powerful symbol of a father’s love during a disaster that claimed over 100 lives in Texas.
