“Unique” Husky Mix Finally Finds Forever Home After 589 Days at Rescue
With your support, shelter animals nationwide are getting the food they need while they wait for a loving home.
Read how your donations impacted the life of a husky mix named Cody.
Cody is a husky-German shepherd mix with unique watch eyes and a big heart. He was surrendered along with a female dog and their pups to a local shelter before being taken in by Husky Halfway House (H3).

He was continuously overlooked because he didn’t fit the typical “husky look”. He watched all of his family find homes and patiently waited for his turn.

Thanks to your donations he had a full belly while he waited for someone to adopt him. The donated treats were used to reward him for being such a good boy.

Staff and volunteers immediately fell in love with Cody and shared, “What he does bring is loyalty, silliness, smarts, and a snack-motivated eagerness to please.”
Good things come to those who wait…
After 589 days at the rescue, Cody finally found someone who loves him just the way he is and is finally home. H3 told us, “The one who saw him for who he really is. The one who knew what we’ve known all along: this big, goofy, soulful boy is one of a kind.”

It was love at first sight for Cody’s new mom when she met him on a video call. The rescue posted, “You see, Natalie lost her best friend and greatest companion. She was heartbroken and was looking for someone who needed her as much as she needed them. From the moment she met him on the video call, she knew Cody was the one for her. The moment Cody met Natalie, he knew this was his new family.”
The rescue and Cody are thankful for the donations and send their thanks. We wish Cody a long and happy life with his new family. Check out how happy he is at his new home in the video below.

While Cody finally found his person, there are thousands more at shelters waiting for their second chance. Shelters and rescues are overcrowded and struggling to feed and care for all the homeless animals.
