Abandoned Dog Rescued in Harbin: Volunteers Rally to Find Owner Amid Pandemic
Hello everyone. Today, we received a call for help from Satellite Road near the Second Hospital in Harbin.
A distressed voice reported that a dog had been abandoned in the staff corridor. âRight in the middle of a pandemic,â I thought as we hurried to the scene.
âItâs been over a month since we had a request like this,â someone remarked nervously as we got closer. âHello,â I greeted the witness, eager to piece together the story. âWhose dog is this?â I asked. âI donât know,â came the helpless reply.

âShe was here when I left,â the witness explained. I pressed further, âDid someone abandon the dog here?â Their response remained uncertain, âI donât know,â they repeated. âItâs been two days now,â added another volunteer, expressing their frustration over their unsuccessful search for the owner.

âThe older sister from Unit No. 1 gave the dog a small blanket,â someone mentioned, listing efforts to provide comfort. âThe aunt from Unit No. 2 brought dog food,â another person shared, describing acts of kindness. âBut she wonât stay in the box,â sighed someone else, highlighting the dogâs restlessness.
âThis is the chicken liver we gave her,â a volunteer pointed out, indicating the small amount of food. âCould this be a lost dog that once had an owner?â I wondered aloud. âIt seems so,â agreed someone nearby. âLetâs go. She doesnât eat or even nibble,â I noted, deciding to take her to a safer place. âThe temperature will drop tonight,â I warned, concerned for her well-being. âShe likely wonât survive outside. Itâs too cold.â

âWeâre handing out the dogâs food and bowl,â I instructed, ensuring she had everything she needed. âThank you, sister,â someone said gratefully as we prepared to relocate her. âIâll head to the dog daycare and try to find the owner,â I announced, hopeful for a reunion. âShe wonât make it outside,â I reiterated, moved by her vulnerability.
