I Heard Our Baby Crying While I Was in the Shower & My Wife Was Watching TV – When I Entered His Room, I Screamed in Shock

One night, I rushed from the shower to find my 3-year-old son crying, covered in red paint, while my wife sat glued to her iPad. Frustrated, I soon realized something deeper was wrong.

That night, thinking my son was asleep, I took a shower. His cries grew desperate, and I rushed out, only to see my wife still focused on her screen. In his room, I found him sobbing, soaked in paint and urine. He said, “Mommy didn’t check on me.”

Angry, I confronted her, but she barely reacted. The next morning, I took our son to my sister’s house. Desperate for answers, I called my mother-in-law. She later told me, “It’s depression.” My wife felt trapped, losing herself to motherhood.

Realizing her struggle, I saw parenting in a new light—it was exhausting. She started therapy, slowly reconnecting with us and her art. One day, she said, “I want to be better.”

With time, she healed, our son felt loved again, and our family slowly mended—together.
