People talked about how women need to take extra steps to feel safe in public after seeing Hersey’s movie. Lots of women talked about being groped or stared at on public transit and how wearing a tube shirt has made them feel safer and more confident.
As a safety measure, other women on TikTok are also supporting the trend by telling their fans to wear tube shirts. @fionaylin told her fans to always wear a coat or a loose shirt over their clothes, no matter what the weather was like. Grace, another user, made a video telling women to wear shirts that are too big on public transport to keep creepy guys away.
